Our strategic approach

What do you want to achieve?

It's the most important question in any communications project — and it's always the first question we ask.

But it's often a very difficult or complex question to answer. Sometimes the objectives are unclear, or even different to those first identified.

We start by establishing a common understanding of the:

  • Problem to be solved and how success will be measured
  • Stakeholders and audiences to be addressed
  • Key messages for segmented audiences
  • Critical story-telling elements
  • Type and style of communication tools to be used

Once we know where we need to go — and where we are starting from — we develop and deliver a strategy and written and video content that:

  • Informs
  • Educates
  • Engages
  • Motivates
  • Changes attitudes
  • Changes behaviours

How we develop strategy

Give people the information they want

1.  Strategic analysis

2.  Consultation

3.  Strategy development

Analysis and consultation occur together, with one informing the other. This is where the problems are identified and solved. The strategy is then developed to explain the messages, the audiences and the delivery.

We consult with the executive, communications team and subject matter experts on the problems to be solved and how we will know and measure if they have, indeed, been solved. We:

  • Deconstruct problems to reveal communications opportunities
  • Identify and segment stakeholders and audiences
  • Develop key messages for each audience
  • Identify the best communications vehicles to carry key messages

We are an integrated consultancy, with in-house capability to translate strategy into written and multimedia communications tools.

Today, people use filters to avoid ‘old-style’ communications. Instead, they actively seek information — and interrogate it when they find it, asking:

  • What is this about?
  • Who does it affect?
  • Why should I care?
  • When does it begin?
  • Where do I find out more?

A successful communication strategy recognises the different target audiences and anticipates their needs. It delivers relevant information that each audience wants and can use in each audience's preferred format, place and time.
